It’s the holiday season, so in the words of the immortal song, whoop de doo and hickory dock!
If you’ve signed up for this newsletter, you are in for 24 days’ worth of holiday movie silliness: original movie concepts by me (with frequent input from my kid who conceived the holiday legal drama “Santa v. Satan”), and probably discussions of real-life masterpieces like Princess Swap 3: 2 Many Princesses. We’ve got bakers, gruff farmers, career-minded lady lawyers, ghosts, possibly even a holiday murder. All accompanied by a faint sound of jingling in the air.
Some of the holiday movies that haven’t yet been made, but we can close our eyes and imagine:
- Christmas On Ice: When Josie Lee returns to her hometown after a disastrous figure skating performance at the Olympics, she has to face her high school bully – who’s married to the love of her life.
- A Very Orphan Christmas: Three orphans learn the meaning of Christmas and brotherhood.
- Good Deeds for Christmas: When parents make their spoiled children complete a good deed every day in December, none of them expect to open the heart of a curmudgeonly neighbor… and maybe a jar of ancient treasure!
- How Did Santa Get So Old and Why Is He Immortal and Why Does He Have Santa Magic (requested and titled by kid): it’s very complicated, but involves an exorcism, witches, and homicidal elves.
Together we will prance through this holiday movie journey like princes frolicking in a fresh snowfall. Onward to December 24th!
