Are you wrestling with a work problem, decision, or difficult conversation?
Rehashing it endlessly in your mind and need someone to talk to?
In a single one-hour session we will figure it out together.
No need to do anything in advance.
No more overthinking.
“In my coaching session with Pia, she approached my professional situation with insight, empathy, and skill. With her talent and experience, she untangled years of frustrations and fears to articulate my professional goals and provide me with precise next steps and resources. I’m so thankful for her nuanced guidance, and I wish that every one of my colleagues could have a coaching session with Pia.” — Rebecca Joy
Some topics we could talk about…
- “I’m about to get a job offer. How do I negotiate — and is there anything beyond salary I should think about?”
- “Something happened at work that bothered me. Should I speak up?”
- “I have an opportunity to go in a different career direction. Should I take it?”
- “I’m an artist struggling with balancing my paid and creative work. I have some ideas — but how do I decide?”
Here’s how it works:
- Book your appointment. It’s $100 for a session, sliding scale available.
- During our session, I’ll start off by inviting you to describe what’s going on. Then I’ll ask questions aimed at helping both of us understand what matters most to you in this situation. Finally, we’ll strategize together about what comes next.
- By the end of the session — which typically takes 45-60 minutes — you’ll have clarity and ideas for next steps.
“One hour, really?”
Yes, really. We’re keeping it to one issue that you’ve already thought about exhaustively. Your problem is like a knot we will unravel together.
This isn’t therapy. We will not delve into the deepest parts of your psyche. It’s one hour, one time only.
In my six years of coaching, I’ve helped people through all kinds of work problems. “Should I take the job? I just learned my junior coworker earns more than me, what do I do? My boss is driving me crazy, what are my options?”
And what I consistently hear from my clients is: “What a relief to talk this through. This was keeping me up at night but now I feel like I know how to move forward. Without you, I never would have asked for what I really wanted.”
My approach is rooted in my training as a mediator, dialogue facilitator, and lawyer, spanning several decades. It’s influenced by principles of nonviolent communication, mindfulness meditation, and trauma-informed care. And it reflects my lived experience as a brown-skinned woman who has encountered some not-so-friendly places during my career in computer science and law, and relied on supportive friends and trusted advisors to help me along.
I’ve been in the corporate world, in nonprofits, in government and the arts. I’ve seen where money and power come from, who has them, and how we can get some. If you’ve been undervalued and dismissed, let’s talk.
Recently, my employer made a decision that favored a colleague over the rest of our staff that left me feeling my work and commitment to the organization wasn’t valued. I was questioning my future with the organization. My consultation with Pia gave me the confidence and, more importantly, the language to go into a conversation with my supervisor with ease. Not only was the problem resolved, but the relationship with my employer has significantly improved. What’s more, the organization instituted a new policy to make sure what happened doesn’t happen again. I’m so grateful to Pia. She’s lovely to talk to and immensely helpful. Thanks, Pia! – Laura W.
